Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman believes the semi-final against England will be a historic one.
Netherlands came from behind to beat Turkey 2-1 in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals on Saturday, sending the Flying Dutchmen through to Wednesday’s semi-final against England.
“It’s a special thing for everyone in the country. We are a small country and now we are in the semi-finals with England, France and Spain,” the 61-year-old said.
“We’re very proud. We had to be tough tonight but it was not an easy game. They gave it their all. It was an emotional game and we had a big heart.
“Sometimes we get criticised for not being on par with other countries. It was a good second half, we had to be very patient, Promotion ufabet but it’s a great achievement to have the chance to play in the semi-finals.
“It will be a great Wednesday night with two great nations, a historic night. If we make it to the final I would love to play Spain because we played France in the group stage. But first we have to be as prepared as possible for the semi-finals.
“If you win, you feel good. We need the same physical condition as England. Our physical condition is not different because we have to travel the same way as them. The physical difference does not determine the result.” Koeman said.
